Branch Chief
Clinical Grants and Contracts Branch
NCI Division of Cancer Treatment and Diagnosis (DCTD) Cancer Therapy Evaluation Program (CTEP)

Dr. Henderson heads CTEP’s Clinical Grants and Contracts Branch. She directs programmatic activities for CGCB’s portfolio of clinical trials and research programs and manages CGCB's hematology-oncology portfolio. Dr. Henderson also supports large research network initiatives and databases including BMT-CTN, CIBMTR, CCSS, and PDXNet 2.0. She leads the NCI Clinical Trials Stewardship Committee, which reviews and updates NCI's procedures and operations to ensure proper oversight and monitoring of NCI-funded awards with clinical trials.

Dr. Henderson joined NCI in 2011 as a program director in DCTD’s Cancer Imaging Program. She oversees NCI-funded clinical imaging trials focused on the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of solid tumors. Before joining the government, she was a senior scientist and global project leader at Novozymes North America (Novo Nordisk). She obtained her Ph.D. in polymer science (chemistry-engineering majors) from the University of Massachusetts, Lowell. This laid the groundwork for her understanding of biomaterials and biological processes for health-related research at the molecular and cellular levels.
