Jing Tassone, Pharm.D., R.Ph.

Dr. Jing Tassone is an active-duty officer with the The Commissioned Corps of the U.S. Public Health Service (USPHS) and a licensed pharmacist whose clinical practice spans the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and The Johns Hopkins Hospital. Her expertise is concentrated in oncology clinical research and pharmacy informatics, where she utilizes health information technology and interdisciplinary collaboration to enhance patient safety, investigational drug management, and clinical trial operations.

Currently, Dr. Tassone holds the position of Biomedical Informatics Project Manager within the Clinical Trials Operations and Informatics Branch (CTOIB) of the National Cancer Institute's (NCI) Cancer Therapy Evaluation Program (CTEP). She is responsible for supporting the development and implementation of informatics solutions and operational strategies that optimize the efficiency, quality, and oversight of NCI-sponsored oncology clinical trials. Her efforts are directed toward expediting trial activation, streamlining study conduct, fostering investigator collaboration, and safeguarding the safety and privacy of clinical research participants.

Dr. Tassone previously served at the NIH Clinical Center as an investigational drug and informatics pharmacist, leading projects in EHR advancement, clinical decision support, smart infusion pump technology, and investigational drug management to support clinical trials operations. She served on several key committees, including the Electronic Health Record Modernization Executive Steering Committee, chaired the Pharmacy Automation Oversight Subcommittee for P&T, and was the Acting Pharmacy Informatics Section Chief, guiding multidisciplinary teams in pharmacy technology implementation and process improvement, earning multiple individual and team honors. Committed to advancing clinical research through innovation, education, and leadership, Dr. Tassone maintains certifications as a Certified Professional in Healthcare Information and Management Systems (CPHIMS) and Certified in Public Health. She is passionate about transforming clinical trial operations by integrating innovative healthcare technologies, evidence-based clinical trial practices, and public health principles to enhance research efficiency, strengthen participant protections, and improve outcomes for patients and the broader research community.
