Gary Smith, M.T., M.G.A.

CTMB Branch Chief Gary L. Smith oversees CTEP's clinical trials monitoring and audit activity. He ensures patient safety, data security, and research integrity and leads a multi-disciplinary team of health care professionals. The team is responsible for evaluating, implementing, and monitoring clinical trials of investigational agents sponsored by the Division of Cancer Treatment and Diagnosis within NCI. Mr. Smith is the Project Officer for the Clinical Trials Monitoring Service contract and has visited hundreds of cancer care centers during his tenure. He received his master’s degree in General Administration with concentration in Healthcare Administration from the University of Maryland and served as a medical technologist for the NIH Clinical Center Hematology Service prior to joining CTEP as a clinical trials monitoring specialist.
