Drug Development Consultation

Prior to reaching out for a general NExT Program Consultation, potential applicants are highly encouraged to request a consultation with the NCI's Drug Development Consultation Group. A typical consultation session lasts around one hour, which consists of a 15-20 minute presentation from the applicant, followed by a question, answer, and feedback session from the group.

The consultation is two-fold:

allows investigators to receive helpful feedback on their proposal, including some potential strategies for crafting their NExT applications
allows NCI staff to evaluate and understand where the proposal and specific requests may fit within NCI's current portfolio
