Dr. Bharti received her Ph.D. in molecular and cell biology from Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main, Germany in 2003. She did her postdoctoral work in the NCI intramural program and later joined NEI as a senior researcher. In 2012 she came to Cancer Diagnosis Program (CDP) as a Scientific Program Manager, where she managed projects in the Clinical Assay Development Program. She later became involved in the coordination of the NCI-MATCH trial. She joined the NCI Division of Extramural Affairs as a Scientific Review Officer in 2016, where she facilitated the peer review of several different grant mechanisms and provided consultation to applicants for Program Project grants. In 2019, Dr. Bharti joined CDP as a Program Director, where she scientifically oversees a portfolio of research grants and is a part of the team of correlative science reviewers for NCI’s clinical trials program.
