Biography

Yingdong Zhao, Ph.D., is Chief of Computational and Systems Biology Branch, Biometric Research Program, Division of Cancer Treatment and Diagnosis, National Cancer Institute, U.S. National Institutes of Health. He earned his Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Biophysics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. In 1998, he joined NCI as a postdoctoral research fellow in computational biology and bioinformatics. He transitioned to a full-time position at NCI in 2000. With over 100 peer-reviewed publications and book chapters, he is recognized as an expert in bioinformatics and computational biology. His research focuses on biomarker discovery, the mechanisms of drug resistance in cancer treatment, survival prognostic and predictive modeling, machine learning applications, T-cell epitope prediction, and the development of bioinformatics tools.
