NCI’s Educational Video on Cancer Treatment and Tissue Donation Receives Silver National Health Information Award

The Cancer Diagnosis Program's educational video on cancer treatment and tissue donation was selected as a winner in the 23rd annual National Health Information Awards
. The video received a Silver Award in the Video category. The awards program is coordinated by the Health Information Resource Center, a national clearinghouse for consumer health information programs and materials. The three-minute video portrays, through personal stories, why tissue donation can be so meaningful to patients and medical researchers. It is designed to be shared with hospitals, cancer centers, surgery clinics, biobank community advisory boards, and medical institution staff involved in conducting clinical trials, to offer a visual format as part of informed consent discussions about the subject of tissue donation with patients who are participating in research, and their families.
