Clinical Fellows from the Developmental Therapeutics Clinic Receive 2016 Conquer Cancer Foundation Merit Awards

Robert Meehan, MD and Geraldine O'Sullivan Coyne, MD, PhD, both clinical fellows in the Developmental Therapeutics Clinic (DTC) in NCI's Division of Cancer Treatment and Diagnosis (DCTD), received Merit Awards from the Conquer Cancer Foundation of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) External Link for their abstracts submitted to ASCO's 2016 Annual Meeting External Link , June 3-7, 2016 in Chicago, IL. The Conquer Cancer Foundation of ASCO honors a limited number of fellows and residents with Merit Awards based on abstract quality and scientific merit.

The research presented in both award-winning abstracts stems from clinical studies performed in the DTC. The DTC conducts early-phase clinical trials of novel cancer treatment agents and provides options to patients who may have no other standard treatment options at home. The innovative trials utilize the scientific resources of DCTD to provide better understanding of techniques of treatment, selection of patients, and combinations of agents. DCTD would like to congratulate Drs. Meehan and O'Sullivan Coyne on their Merit Award abstracts:
